Matthew is styling in his own line of hip hop gear. Urban, yet very pre-K. Notice the cockeyed red visor, along with the complementary clip-on tie to complete the ensemble. Matthew is soooo fashion forward.
Well, I am considering buying an electric guitar. For more “normal” people, the desire to get an electric guitar begins at around age 13, but not me. I waited until I was 39!
The reason for my decision to go the electric route, no it is not a mid-life crisis, is out of necessity. We used to have two electric players on a regular basis, but we now only have one at a time, with me on acoustic or on keyboard. The problem is that for certain songs two electric guitar are needed. Don’t worry, I will still be playing on acoustic and keyboard, but I wanted complement with a little more drive on the rhythm side of things.
Here is what I am looking at:
Now I wouldn’t mind getting a real Les Paul, or Fender Telecaster, but I can’t really afford them right now. So, I am beginning to look at the Epiphone copies. Tim (the resident guitar expert) suggested I get the cheaper model, and upgrade the electronics.
Ultimately, I need to get out and start playing some guitars.
As far as effects I am looking at the Line 6 Pod Floor or the Line 6 Pod 2.0. to go direct into the board. After hearing them, I do like the amp modeling, and both should be good for my needs.
I am still saving up, so if you would like to donate to the Steve Eller Wants To Be a Rock Star Fund, please let me know!
I found a cool song it is called “I Stand” by Hillsong United. A great song of surrender. What really caught me wasn’t the music, but the lyrics. Check it out:
You stood before creation
Forever within Your hand
You spoke all life into motion
My soul now to stand
You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand
So what can I say
And what could I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You
So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand
So I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I’ll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours
Just checking out a new worship site at worshipfrequency.com. It looks like it was started by Chris Tomlin and his band as a worship resource. It mainly has Chris’s material on there now, but I think they really want it to have more broader content.
It looks pretty nice. They have charts, stories behind the songs, and instructional videos. I am excited to see what this develops into.
Well, I moved off of my Vox blog because I wanted to host all my pages again, including a blog. So, here it is. Woo hoo! Exciting! I still need to set things up, and move in. But this is to show Megan that I actually do still post on my blog.
