To my worship leader/pastor friends:
Where did you guys go? It seems that lately nobody has been posting worship confessionals. Over this summer I have enjoyed trading stories, sharing struggles, celebrating victories, etc… But recently it seems everyone has dropped off the map. Am I wrong?
Come on people! We have a great vehicle here to keep each other accountable, to provide prayer support, and just plain enjoy the WC’s for their entertainment value alone. This is iron sharpening iron. Get to posting!
Here is a reminder of why we do worship confessionals from the Tone Guru: What is a worship confessional?

I’ll have one coming next week. I only lead worship about once a month.

i’m doing my best typing through all of it…. sorry i don’t have any cool cameras or editing equipment for an impressive video like the rest of you guys!

Text is cool too! I really like the stuff you write. You are ministering in a little different situation than I am, so it gives me another perspective to draw from. Keep up the good work Mandy!
I don’t have the impressive video equipment either. I just use iMovie that came on my mac, and a cheap video camera.

hmmm… I don’t know if I’d call anything I do “impressive.” I use a really cheap mpeg video cam.
Although I will say I am a fan of text set lists. You can’t search a video. And for that matter text confessionals are better SEO.

help a sista out - what does SEO mean?

Search Engine Optimization.
It refers to how well people can find your site through a search engine.
For example:
If I say, “I really messed up “Hear is our King” by David Crowder” in my video then no one can search for those words.
But
If you said the same thing your your text-fessional then any one who searched Google for “messed up David Crowder” would potentially find your site.

gotcha.
brilliant……..
i like being Search Engine Optimized.

I agree if you want to have your setlists searchable by google you would definitely want to include the text in the body of the post even if you did a video confessional. But there is a technology out their right now that indexes video and audio. It is also free. Check out http://www.everyzing.com/. The only thing is that I don’t think Google recognizes their indexing…yet. It is absolutely an amazing tool.

Yeah Steve,
Veotag
http://www.veotag.com/
and
Viddler
http://www.viddler.com/
Both let you attach searchable, indexable text to your videos.

Thank Billy. I finally got to look at a veotag.com and viddler.com. They are pretty cool. It is nice that you can annotate your video. The main difference with everyzing.com, is that it automatically extracts the text out of your video. But they are all cool in their own way.

hmmm… I couldn’t seem to figure out everyzing.com
I searched for “worship” and the first two videos I got were g4y p0rn. lol I think they may need to work on their auto extraction algorithm.

I haven’t used it much for video, but for audio it seems to do a pretty good job.
