The New iPods Are Out!

Posted on the September 5th, 2007 under misc by Steve Eller

ipod_hero_touch_20070905.jpgOK, first off I have an old 4th generation iPod that is serving me well, and I don’t have money to buy a new iPod, but OH MY GOODNESS!

When the iPhone was released I was thinking to myself, if Apple would just release an iPhone minus the phone, every other music player would be driven out of the market. Well it has happened. This thing looks awesome.

Apple has also released a new version of the Nano and the iPod classic, with updated features, and the addition of video to the Nano.

Go here for a video tour. But please, before you click on the link, take your wallet out of your pocket, and lock it in a safe. This way you won’t accidently buy one of these things.

Jim Earp is coming to Rancho Vista Church (my church) to share some of his great music, and musicianship. I first heard Jim in 1989 when he was playing with a band called the Mooncookies while I was playing with a band called Code 7. Our bands played together at the Spirit club (now Brick By Brick) in San Diego. I was amazed at his sound and artistry. He is one of the better guitarists I have ever heard.

Here is one of his CD’s on iTunes: Jim Earp - The Collection

Check out some of his reviews:

2005 INTERNATIONAL FINGERSTYLE GUITAR CHAMPIONSHIP “TOP FIVE” FINALIST

“…Jim mixes an uncanny ear for melody with an edgy, percussive attack…throw in driving rhythms, beautiful, crystalline tone, and deft…technique…This is no wimp folkie, this is a player.”
- Guitar Player Magazine

“…(Jim’s) fingerstyle method of guitar playing incorporates a beautiful cascade of clearly defined notes within a layered melodic backdrop…on par with Phil Keaggy’s instrumental acoustic projects.”

- CCM Magazine
