A couple of weeks ago I was watching a concert on PBS that was a tribute to Eric Clapton. They had a number of different artists taking the stage to offer their music.
So, here comes Jeff Beck, with Vinnie Coluta (I never spell his name right) on drums, and then this girl, who looked like she was about 17 years old, playing bass. She could play! I did a little more research and found out it was 21 year old Tal Wilkenfeld. Tal is from Australia, and originally came to the US as a guitarist, but changed over to bass only four years ago! She not only has played with Jeff Beck, but Chick Corea and many other top players. Check out this video. It is a small taste of how good she is.
