The Christmas Push

Anyone who is involved in church ministry, vocationally or as a volunteer can relate to how I am feeling today. And I know our team will be feeling it come Monday night!

I am trying to get all the music arranged for this Sunday. It isn’t enough that we are supporting a kid’s Christmas program with music during our second service, but we are also extending worship quite a bit during first service. Our family is going down for a mission trip to Mexico on Saturday. We are starting a new series the first week of ‘08 that has to have all the graphics done, mailers ordered, etc.. this week! Then there is Christmas Eve. You add doing the family thing, trying to keep your kid’s from opening their presents before the 25th (yes, my son has already managed to partially open one gift), and it can make for chaos and stress.

In spite of the busyness, I am so aware of God’s providential, loving hand on my life. I am excited and passionate about not only serving Him this Christmas, but for the future God has planned for my life, my family, and my church. I am grateful for my God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the times we have walked together in the last couple of weeks. I am thankful for a healthy and loving family, who puts up with my weirdness, and loves me anyway. I am honored to be able to work side by side with a team of friends in our ministry that gives of its time, talents, and heart to serve the Kingdom of God, even when it is hard.

So, yeah, I am a little busy, and little tired, but God has really blessed me, and I am soaking it up!
